Hear every official question. Answer out loud. Walk in ready.
Get it on Google Play Novanest ATLASThe naturalisation civics test is spoken aloud, not written down. This app lets you study it the same way an officer will ask it — by ear, at your own pace, with nothing to read and nothing to type.
Your device reads each question aloud, waits while you answer out loud, then reads the accepted answer and a short explanation of why it matters. A commute, a walk, a shift in the kitchen or the school run becomes study time you would otherwise have lost.
USCIS selects your version by the date you filed Form N-400, not by your interview date. Both banks are included, and you switch between them in the app:
| Filed on or after 20 October 2025 | 2025 civics test — 128 questions. 20 asked, 12 correct to pass. |
|---|---|
| Filed before 20 October 2025 | 2008 civics test — 100 questions. 10 asked, 6 correct to pass. |
Check your N-400 receipt notice if you are unsure. Confirm the current requirements at uscis.gov before your appointment.
| 2025 civics test | All 128 questions, with accepted answers and explanations |
|---|---|
| 2008 civics test | All 100 questions, with accepted answers and explanations |
| Reading vocabulary | The official reading word list plus practice sentences |
| Writing vocabulary | The official writing word list plus dictation practice |
| N-400 interview | Practice for the personal questions an officer asks about your form |
The interface, the explanations and the question translations are complete in four languages. Questions are always spoken in English, because that is the language you are examined in.
Some answers depend on who currently holds an office, and some depend on the state you live in — your senators, your representative, your governor, your state capital. The app marks these and tells you to confirm the current answer from the official source before your appointment. Names of national officeholders are updated with each release; state-specific answers are yours to fill in and are saved on your device.
Every question, answer, explanation and translation is stored on your device when you install. Nothing is downloaded and nothing you do is sent anywhere. Put the phone in airplane mode and the app works exactly the same. No account, no sign-up, no email address, no password.
The app is free and paid for by advertising. A banner appears on some screens and a full-screen ad occasionally between study sessions. Ads never appear while a question is being read, never when the app opens, and never in the middle of a session.
